IMI students get to attend classes of global gurus during their term in IIPM.

IIPM Global Outreach Programme creates a platform for faculties from around the world to share their experiences and knowledge at a common forum and to deliver world class education to our students.This programme brings over 30 professors of international repute to IIPM branches in India. It enables all IIPM students (of all branches) to interact with professors from top the 15 global institutions.

Professors from various Ivy League schools like Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Columbia GSB, Chicago GSB, Yale School of Management London School of Economics, Kellogg School of Management etc have participated in not only the academic calendar at IIPM, but also the Executive Development programs at IIPM. Topic: Create, Win And… Dominate the Market!

After the resounding success with Stephen Covey, IIPM’s Global Outreach Programme had the privilege of witnessing the world’s foremost marketing expert and the author of classic marketing textbook Marketing Management, Dr. Philip Kotler.
Dr. Kotler’s intense and enigmatic delivery on areas related to marketing brought about a wider perspective for the students of IIPM. Students gained insight on the application of sound economic and marketing science principles to increase competitiveness. Dr. Kotler emphasized on various intriguing topics like weaknesses of the old marketing systems, developing marketing accountability, creating customer centered organizations, tools for building brand equity, e-marketing etc.
Students had a chance to question the various concepts of marketing to gain a more insightful meaning into the subject and understand marketing as the only tool for business dominance.
The programme created a platform which gave the students a chance to leverage from the marketing guru himself.

STEPHEN COVEY 
Topic: Effective Habits. Effective People. Effective Leadership.

IIPM students had the opportunity of interacting with Dr. Stephen Covey, the most influential non-fiction author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

Stephen Covey’s principle-centered approach was a unique experience for our students. Students gained value in terms of gaining insight into areas such as “integrity”, “character”, and “responsibility”. He presented an overview of his acclaimed SEVEN HABITS of Effective People.
Dr. Covey emphasized on ingenerating in ourselves the foundations for success, effectiveness, and happiness in life .
Students gained a perspective on how to achieve goals; instill a positive attitude; create the power to change; manage their own development and most importantly engendering the attitude to win. He also enlightened the students with the importance of passion to achieve excellence.
This was followed by an intense question and answer session where our students gained tremendous value by such close interaction with Dr. Covey. Students, thus got an opportunity to learn from the best and understood the importance of incredible energy to achieve excellence in life.

AKASH DEEP & R. S. DHANKAR
Harvard Business School

Topic: Leadership and Organizational Development 

Akash Deep is Associate Professor specializing in finance at Harvard University. A member of the American Finance Association and the Global Association of Risk Professionals, he holds a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Operations Research from Yale University, New Haven, USA. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India. His expertise lies in the areas of financial risk management, infrastructure finance, and the management & regulation of banks & financial institutions, including the Basel II capital accord.
His research has focused on hedging price & currency risk using derivative securities, the design of privatization & project financing structures, and risk management at banks. He has also served as Economist in the regulatory policy and analysis section of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland. Akash teaches Financial Investments, Risk Management and Infrastructure Finance in various forums globally. He has led executive development Programmes at Harvard University, National University of Singapore, Goldman Sachs, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank, amongst others. He has consulted with Governments and private firms in various countries, and his work has been cited in journals and international publications such as the Financial Times and the Boston Globe.

TOM KIRCHMAIER
London School of Economics

Topic: Bargaining and Negotiations

Dr. Tom Kirchmaier is a Lecturer in Management at the London School of Econom ics, where his research interests include Negotiation Analysis as well as Corporate Governance, Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Performance. He holds a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Management from the London School of Economics, as well as Masters in Eco nomics from the University of Regensburg, Germany. After eight years at LSE, he will now take up a Lectureship at the Manchester Business School while keeping strong links with both the Financial Markets Group and the Institute of Management at LSE, where he has co-founded and is now part-organising the Centre for Corporate Governance. He is heavily involved in public policy debates on corporate governance and his book on Corporate Governance (joint with Sir Geoffrey Owen) will be published by Palgrave in mid-October 2005. On this subject, he is also a frequent commentator and contributor to the business media. His work has been published in the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal, and he has appeared several times on Bloomberg Television. He has extensive consulting experience in both the IT and Automotive industry, where he advises the Volkswagen Group and DaimlerChrysler on issues of Bargaining & Negotiation and Corporate Restructuring. He has also worked for Oracle Business Consulting where he was helping to organise a fast-track built up of the IT system for one major German mobile phone operator.

Lakshman Krishnamurthi
Kellogg
Topic: Winning Marketing Strategies

Professor Lakshman Krishnamurthi received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Madras, an MBA from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Master's degree in Statistics as well as his Ph.D. degree in Marketing, both from Stanford University. He is the Montgomery Ward Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the Kellogg School, Northwestern University. In his twenty-six year career at Kellogg, Professor Krishnamurthi served as the Chairman of the Marketing department for eleven years. 

He has published widely in prominent academic journals and has won several research awards. Some of the awards he has received are the Sidney Levy Award for teaching excellence in the years 1999, 2001 and 2003; won the Donald Lehmann Award(2000), for best paper based on a dissertation published in the Journal of Marketing Research; Paul Green Best Paper Award (1999) for best paper in the Journal of Marketing Research; John D.C. Little Best Paper Award (1988) for best paper in Marketing Science; won Best Paper Award (1991), AMA Summer Educators' Conference and was the finalist, for the William O'Dell award (1990) for his paper published in Journal of Marketing Research, 1985-90 He teaches Marketing Strategy and Pricing in a wide variety of programmes at the Kellogg School, and has been recognised for his teaching through several awards. He consults and conducts executive Programmes for a number of companies such as Motorola, Merck KgaA, Johnson & Johnson, British Petroleum, Novartis, Wolters Kluwer, Honeywell, Peninsula Hotels, Chicago Tribune, Coca Cola, Abbott, Procter & Gamble (Latin America), and others.
